Dear Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association,
I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude and thanks for your support. It felt good to be recognized for my interest in radiology, and the numbers hours that went into becoming proficient in radiographic interpretation. Ever since I took my first veterinary job as a veterinary assistant I have been fascinated with radiology, the insight different modalities can give into an animal’s health, and the technologies that make it all possible.
I graduated as a first generation high school graduate in the very small, rural town of Bolton Landing, NY in a class of twenty one students. After high school, I attended the local community college intermittently for several years before finally finding my passion – avian medicine and welfare. After getting my first pet bird, I developed an insatiable need to know more about these fantastic creatures. In 2010 I joined the local parrot rescue, the Capital Region Parrot Society, and served on their board of directors until attending veterinary school. In 2012, I took a job in a small animal and exotics clinic, which further accelerated my interests in veterinary medicine. Thile attending the State University of New York at Cobleskill seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences, I applied to Kansas State University. I applied to KSU for their reputation in producing world class veterinarians, and their opportunities for study in avian and exotic animal medicine. During veterinary school, I volunteered a large amount of time at Burgeons Bird Services and Rescue in Grandview Missouri, and was invited to serve on the board of directors for Burgeons Bird Rescue os of last year. During school, I also had the pleasure of working for the Radiology department taking after-hours radiographs, building radiology presentation, and caring for the hyperthyroid cats undergoing Iodine-131 treatments. I was invited to and greatly enjoyed tutoring sophomore radiology and junior small animal surgery. I am pleased to share that I was able to participate in the activities while attaining a graduating GPA of 3.86.
I graduated May 17th, 2019 Cum Laude, and was a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society. In this coming year, I will be completing a one year companion avian and exotic animal medicine specialty internship at Broward Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital in Deerfield Beach, FL. After this internship I intend to seek a residency in avian medicine on a path to board certification in Avian Medicine through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
Thank you again for your support,

Dear Steven & Linda Joseph,
Thank you for your support! Compassionate animal care is a necessity in veterinary medicine and I am honored to be recognized for providing such to my patients. I chose to pursue a career as a veterinarian due to the love I have for medicine and the desire to assist people and animals in time of need. By providing medical care for the animals in the family, I am able to help the entire family. Throughout my years in animal science and veterinary medicine, I have come to enjoy practicing mixed animal medicine with a special interest in Equine and Swine.
I grew up in Pasadena, CA and received my Bachelor in Science in Animal Science with an Equine science minor at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). I was able to participate in many enterprises (hands-on courses while at Cal Poly including foaling, halter breaking, calving, kidding, lambing, and farrowing. While in undergrad, I managed the university Swine unit for a year and a half. Although I have leaned more toward the practice of Equine medicine while in veterinary school, my love for swine still remains.
I have received employment with the Animal Medical Center in Gillette, Wyoming. I will be practicing mixed animal medicine with a special interest in Equine. I plan expand the mobile Equine clinic provided by the Animal Medical Center and to make a difference in the community one animal at a time. I am excited for my new adventure to begin.
Thank you again for your support.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Hull
