Do you know your Rabies Titer?
According to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, persons at frequent or high-risk of potential rabies exposures, such as veterinarians, their staff, animal handlers, and some laboratory workers should get pre-exposure vaccinations. You should have your titer checked every two years! All active KCVMA members can sign up for FREE!
This year at FETCH DVM 360 Kansas City this Saturday August 18 from 10:15 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday August 19 from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM in the Exhibit Hall by K-State Rabies Laboratory. You do not have to be registered at the convention to visit the rabies titer booth. You just need to go to Exhibitor Registration and let them know you are a member of KCVMA and that you need a pass to visit the Rabies Titer Booth.
For additional fees, the following testing options are also available:
- $50 – 20 Chemistries/Cholesterol and components (Glucose, BUN, Creatinine, Uric Acid, Total Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, Alkaline Phosphatase, Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH), Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, Calcium, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), Triglycerides, Total Cholesterol, Very Low Density Lipoprotein (VLDL), Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), T.Cholesterol/HDL Ratio, LDL/HDL Ratio)
- $30 – Complete Blood Count (CBC) with Differential
- $35 – Glycohemoglobin A1C
- $35 – Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)
- $100 – Lyme Disease Antibody (IgG)
- $70 – Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy
- $50 – Highly Sensitive C-Reactive Protein
- $35 – Thyroid Panel (T3, T4, T7, TSH)
- $160 – Brucella-Antibody Agglutination
- $40 – Lead Levels
- $50 – Hepatitis C

- Registering ahead of time, and printing/filling out your information sheet will significantly expedite your visit.
- DO NOT PAY ONLINE UNLESS YOU HAVE REGISTERED FOR ADDITIONAL TESTS. There will be opportunity to pay on-site if you decide to add additional tests.
- If you are registered for Fetch, simply head over to the exhibit hall at your scheduled time to have your titer drawn.
- If you are NOT registered for Fetch. Go to the Exhibitors Registration Booth, tell them you are part of KCVMA. They will give you a temporary badge to the Exhibit hall to have your titer drawn.
If you are doing Rabies Titer Screen only, you are done, we will see you at your appointment time. If you are doing any additional testing please go to: http://www.ksvdl.org/accounting-billing/index.html, select ‘Pay Now’ on the right side of the screen, and select Rabies Titer Booth – Kansas City, Missouri and pay only for your additional testing. (Do no mark the Rabies Titer, as it will be paid for by KCVMA)
